Members Code of Conduct
Adopted June 29, 2022 by the Energy West Social Club Inc. Board
Energy West Social Club Inc. (“the Club”) is a not-for-profit organisation with the following objectives:
- Promote good fellowship among members;
- Promote harmonious relations with Stakeholders;
- Organise social events and activities;
- Provide such services and opportunities as from time to time may be deemed appropriate for the members' satisfaction and advancement, and
- Acquire and develop holiday homes and other property for the use of members This Code of Conduct details the rights and responsibilities of the Club’s members, and the possible consequences of not abiding by these.
Members have a right to:
- Be treated fairly, equally and with respect by the Club, its Board, its staff, and other members.
- Socialise in an environment free from all forms of harassment and discrimination.
- Privacy and confidentiality concerning personal records, documentation and any other communication containing a member’s personal information, in line with the Club’s Privacy Policy, unless consent is otherwise provided
- Be informed and actively involved in all Club events and offerings.
- Voice their opinions and suggestions to the Board through appropriate channels made available by the Board and the Club’s Constitution.
Members must:
- Treat other members, staff, Board, guests, caretakers, contractors, and staff of venues and other patrons (where a Club function is being held) fairly, equally and with respect and courtesy.
- Behave responsibly and ensure they conduct themselves in a manner which will not injure the reputation of the Club, staff, its events, organisers, participants or sponsors.
- Not physically or verbally harass or abuse others.
- Report any inappropriate behaviour of a member to the Club for action and follow up.
- Uphold the Club’s Constitution and Code of Conduct. Uphold all holiday home, event, venue, and ticket Terms & Conditions.
- Pay any fees in relation to events, holiday homes, or offerings, in line with the applicable Terms and Conditions.
- Notify the Club of any changes to address, contact details, change of employment, or details of dependants.
- Not use membership privileges to obtain member benefits for non-members of the Club (except where explicitly allowed in the Terms & Conditions).
Breaches of this Code of Conduct:
- Any inappropriate behaviour of any member may result in the member being requested to leave the holiday home, event, or function, and they will not be entitled to a refund of any monies paid.
- The inappropriate behaviour of any member will be investigated and discussed, by the Board, and appropriate disciplinary actions taken. Such actions will be in accordance with the Club’s constitution, including rights of appeal.
- In circumstances where it is believed breaches of the Code of Conduct also breach local, state or federal laws or mandates, the Club will report to appropriate authorities (e.g. police).
